A U.S. Army Soldier with Headquarters Service Company, 70th Brigade Support Battalion, 2nd Infantry Division, inspects U.S. Marine Corps Sgt. Victor Vargas, a combat engineer with 9th Engineer Support Battalion, 3rd Marine Logistics Group, while conducting a gas chamber qualification course in preparation for Warrior Shield 24 at U.S. Army Garrison Yongsan-Casey, Republic of Korea, Feb. 27, 2024. During the course, the service members performed various tasks while exposed to CS gas to build confidence in using M40 Gas Masks. Warrior Shield 24 is an annual joint, combined, exercise in the Republic of Korea that strengthens the combined defensive capabilities of ROK-U.S. Forces. This routine, regularly scheduled, field training exercise provides the ROK-U.S. Marines the opportunity to rehearse combined operations, exchange knowledge, and demonstrate the strength and capability of the ROK-U.S. Alliance.
