Norwegian Army Staff Sgt. Hendrick Molmann, a cold weather survival instructor with Home Guard 12 (HV-12), teaches U.S. Marines from II Marine Expeditionary Force, Arrival and Assembly Operations Group, how to set-up and use a 10-person tent before taking part in Norwegian Exercise Northern Winter being conducted by the Norwegian Armed Forces in Vaernes, Norway, Feb. 29, 2024. Exercise Northern Winter is an annual cold weather training exercise for HV-12. II MEF Marines are deployed to Norway for exercise Nordic Response 24 and are also participating in exercise Northern Winter to practice cold weather survival skills, offensive and defensive operations in an arctic environment, and integration with a partner nation.
