U.S. Army Spc. Zachariah Johnson with 1st Battalion, 161st Infantry Regiment, 81st Stryker Brigade combat team, Washington Army National Guard conducts a proficiency test on a single channel ground and airborne radio system during the state Best Warrior competition at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Wash, March 3, 2024. In addition to proficiency testing, the competition consisted of an Army Combat Fitness Test, board panel, written essay, qualification range, stress shoot, and tactical ruck march. The winning soldier and non-commissioned officer, Sgt. Isaac Duncan with 898th Brigade Engineer Battalion, 81st Stryker Brigade Combat Team and Spc.
