U.S. Soldiers with the Washington National Guard complete a six-mile tactical road march, the final event of the state Best Warrior Competition at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Wash, March 3, 2024. In addition to the road march, the competition consisted of an Army Combat Fitness Test, written essay, board panel, qualification range, stress shoot, and land navigation. The winning soldier and non-commissioned officer, Sgt. Isaac Duncan with 898th Brigade Engineer Battalion, 81st Stryker Brigade Combat Team and Spc. Zachariah Johnson with 1st Battalion, 161st Infantry Regiment, 81st SBCT will go on to represent Washington in the Region VI Army National Guard Best Warrior Competition this Spring.
