2nd Lt. Carlos Betancourt, Army health services admin with the 421st Medical Battalion-Multifunctional, reports that simulated enemy gas munitions are being used during the 30th Medical Brigade Best Squad Competition at Franken Kaserne military base, Ansbach, Germany on Feb. 28, 2024. Soldiers are required to learn how to dawn a gas mask in under nine seconds in the case of a real threat. Events like these are used as a test of grit and toughness, foster readiness and esprit de corps, and are a fundamental part of the Brigade's method of building lethal, cohesive teams and expert leaders.
