MAJURO, Republic of Marshall Islands (February 16, 2024) Lt. Jg. Shawn Adair, Left, assigned to Naval Mobile Construction Battalion (NMCB) 4, cuts the ribbon on a new outdoor dining pavilion alongside the school principal, Tom Kijenmij, second-to-left, the acting commissioner of the public school system, Junior Paul, center, Lt. Hoel Rupert, second-to-right, and the U.S. Embassy chargé d’affair, Lance Posey. This ceremony celebrated the completion of a successful 30-day new construction project as part of Pacific Partnership 2024. Pacific Partnership is an annual mission exercise by the United States Indo-Pacific Command and executed by U.S Pacific Fleet in coordination with partner nations. NMCB 4 is forward deployed throughout the Indo-Pacific region to support and maintain a free and open Indo-Pacific. As the stand-in, crisis response, naval engineering force, NMCB 4 maintains a ready posture to deliver in-theater expeditionary logistics via expeditionary shore infrastructure, forward damage repair, and mobile construction.
