A student from Matthew C. Perry Primary School gives a gift to Tomoshi Nakazawa, the vice director of Hirojirushi Hiroshima Seika’s Iwakuni Branch, during the 2024 Mikan Presentation at Marine Corps Air Station Iwakuni, Japan, Feb. 6, 2024. This annual ceremony allows Suo-Oshima farmers and distributors to give students mikans, a winter seasonal fruit and symbol of the island, to show appreciation and strengthen the relationship between the communities.
