A U.S. Navy MH-60S Seahawk helicopter, assigned to the amphibious assault ship USS America (LHA-6), hovers overhead during a reconnaissance and surveillance exercise at Kin Blue, Okinawa, Japan, Feb. 3, 2024. The exercise sustained the MRF’s proficiency in rapidly inserting and scouting for a landing force. The 31st MEU, the Marine Corps’ only continuously forward-deployed MEU, provides a flexible and lethal force ready to perform a wide range of military operations as the premier crisis response force in the Indo-Pacific region.
