U.S. Marines with Marine Wing Support Squadron 172, Marine Aircraft Group 36 partnered with Royal Thai Marines with Marine Division, Engineer Company participate in the column raising ceremony for a classroom being constructed during Exercise Cobra Gold 2013 (CG 13) at Ban Nam Chiao Elementary School in Lam Ngob District, Trat Province, Kingdom of Thailand, Jan. 22, 2013. CG 13 forces conduct engineering and medical civic assistance projects, Cooperative Health Engagement (CHE), and other civil-military activities in the Kingdom of Thailand, in order to promote the security interests of the Kingdom of Thailand, U.S. and partner nations, enhance component operational readiness skills and training objectives, increase interoperability with partner nation forces, and serve the basic civic needs of the local population.
