Company C, 2d Battalion, 227th Aviation Regiment, Fort Cavasos, Texas, receives the Army Aviation Air/Sear Rescue Award of the Year during the Army Aviation Senior Leader Forum dinner at Fort Novosel, Alabama, Jan. 24, 2024. Accepting the award is DUSTOFF #1 crew: Chief Warrant Officer 3 Jarrell K. Kaaloa, pilot in command, Chief Warrant Officer 2 Nathan A. Eastin, pilot, Staff Sgt. David E. Cabrera, flight medic, and Sgt. Shedrit J. Bealer, crew chief, as well as Maj. Kevin A. Zuniga, company commander, and Lt. Col. John B. DeLoach, battalion commander. Presenting the award is Maj. Gen. Michael McCurry, U.S. Army Aviation Center of Excellence commander and Army Aviation branch chief, Chief Warrant Officer 5 Michael Corsaro, chief warrant officer of the branch, and Command Sgt. Maj. Kirk Coley, branch command sergeant major, retired Maj. Gen. Walter Davis, Army Aviation Association of America president, and an industry partner. The award is one of several Army Aviation Association of America National Functional Awards presented annually for a specific area or specialty within the Army Aviation community.
