U.S. Air National Guard Col. Karen Bogdan, incoming commander for the 146th Maintenance Group, takes command during an assumption of command ceremony at Channel Islands Air National Guard Station, Port Hueneme, California, Nov. 4, 2023. Bogdan, who first enlisted in the Air National Guard as a videographer in 1991, commissioned in 2001, serving multiple positions as a public affairs officer, executive officer, and an aircraft maintenance officer. Prior to joining the 146th, Bogdan was a Legislative Liaison for the National Guard Bureau, where she served as the Personnel and Readiness Team Lead and the primary advisor to the Director of the Air National Guard regarding Congress.
