Norfolk, Va. (Sep. 26, 2023) U.S. Navy explosive ordnance disposal (EOD) technicians assigned to Explosive Ordnance Disposal Mobile Unit 12 (EODMU 12) lowers an unmanned underwater vehicle (UUV) in the water while conducting underwater mine countermeasures (UMCM). The Sailors are completing their final evaluation problem (FEP), an assessed training event featuring complex scenarios that test a team’s operating proficiency. EODMU 12 provides skilled, capable, and combat-ready deployable Navy EOD forces to detect, locate, and render safe explosive threats in support a range of operations.
