Pearl Harbor survivor Ed Vezey speaks during a USS Oklahoma Memorial ceremony marking the fifth anniversary of the memorial on Ford Island, Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Hawaii on Dec. 7, 2012. Vezey was stationed aboard the battleship USS Oklahoma (BB 37) during the attacks on Pearl Harbor. The morning of Dec. 7, 1941, Japanese bombers staged a surprise attack on U.S. military forces in Hawaii. The day after the attack, before a joint session of Congress, President Franklin D.
