An exploded ordnance is detonated after members of the Republic of Korea Army alongside U.S. Army observers from the 718th Explosive Ordnance Disposal Company, 23rd Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear and Explosive Battalion, conduct render safe operations during the combined training exercise Ulchi Freedom Shield 2023. The annual exercise is designed to strengthen the combined defense posture and Alliance response capabilities based on scenarios that reflect diverse threats within the security environment. The rigorous training ensures the alliance is ready to defend the Republic of Korea and promote security and stability in Northeast Asia.
