U.S. Army Soldiers performs K.P. (kitchen police) at a food sanitation center (FSC) during Northern Strike 2023 on Camp Grayling, Michigan, Aug. 10, 2023. The FSC is a field expedient washing station set up in forward deployed environments to maintain sanitation and reduce the risk of food borne illnesses. Northern Strike is one of the National Guard’s largest joint, readiness producing exercises, held annually at Michigan’s National All-Domain Warfighting Center, which consists of Camp Grayling, the Alpena Combat Readiness Training Center, the Battle Creek Air National Guard Base, the Selfridge Air National Guard Base and other training areas. It is designed to challenge the training audience in many ways, including contested sustainment/logistics. (U.S. Army National Guard photo by Staff Sgt. Alan Prince)
