David Ayotte Jr., commanding officer of the "Merlins" of HSC-3, delivers remarks during a change of command ceremony, held aboard Naval Air Station (NAS) North Island in Coronado, California, Aug 3. During the ceremony, Cmdr. Thomas Butts relieved Capt. David Ayotte Jr., and became the 46th commanding officer to lead the Merlins. HSC-3 is the Navy’s west coast MH-60S fleet replacement squadron, responsible for training pilots and aircrewmen by providing the most capable warfighters to the fleet.
