Lt.j.g. Shannon Ryan, a physician assistant at Naval Branch Health Clinic Jacksonville, preforms an exam on the elbow, checking for epicondylitis, on HN Cody Ellis. Ryan, a Medical Service Corps officer, holds a Masters of Physician Assistant degree from Eastern Michigan University. A native of Tawas City, Michigan, Ryan says, “I see active-duty patients for routine screenings and any additional medical concerns they may be having. It’s an honor to have the opportunity to care for our active-duty service members.” On August 4, the Navy’s Medical Service Corps will celebrate 75 years of exceptional service. Medical Service Corps officers have continuously served sailors and Marines, in times of war and peace, since 1947. #FacesofNHJax
