A C-17 Globemaster III taxis on a runway during Operation Max Moose at Joint Base Charleston, South Carolina, July 12, 2023. The purpose of this operation was to exercise and evaluate the 62d Operations Group and the 62d Maintenance Group’s ability to launch a maximum number of aircraft and sustain extended duration flights with McChord’s C-17s over a 44-hour period. During that time, crews worked with eight bases throughout the continental United States and Central America, delivering humanitarian aid and executing high-end flight tactics, techniques and procedures outlined by Air Mobility Command commander, U.S. Air Force Gen. Mike Minihan. (U.S. Air Force photo by Staff Sgt. Rachel Williams)
