A KC-135 Stratotanker, assigned to the 141st Air Refueling Wing, Fairchild Air Force Base, Washington, prepares to refuel a C-17 Globemaster III with the 62d Airlift Wing during Operation Max Moose at 8:00 p.m. PST, nearly three hours after takeoff, over the Pacific Northwest, July 11, 2023. The purpose of this operation was to exercise and evaluate the 62d Operations Group and the 62d Maintenance Group’s ability to launch a maximum number of aircraft and sustain extended duration flights with McChord’s C-17s over a 44-hour period, exercise Agile Combat Employment and Multi-Capable Airmen concepts to establish and maintain competencies with aircrew and maintenance personnel.
