A group of U.S. Army soldiers in ACU (Army Combat Uniform) digital camouflage are participating in a military band rehearsal in an indoor practice room. A conductor stands at the front near a whiteboard, directing the ensemble which includes brass instruments and percussion. The setting appears to be an official military music facility, likely associated with the 1st Cavalry Division based on visible insignia.

Chief Warrant Officer 5 Jeanne Pace (center), 1st Cavalry Division Band commander, conducts a rehearsal at Fort Hood, Nov. 6. The rehearsal is for a performance at the University of Texas at Arlington, Nov. 7. Since the venue is not large enough for the entire band, a smaller version, or “cut-down” band, fit the bill perfectly. At least one of the different ensembles of the 1st. Cav. band rehearses daily.
