A group of U.S. Army soldiers in ACU (Army Combat Uniform) camouflage are participating in a band rehearsal in what appears to be a dedicated music rehearsal room on a military installation. A female soldier stands at the front conducting or leading the ensemble while others are seated with music stands playing various brass instruments. The room contains instrument storage lockers, cases, and equipment typical of a military band facility.

Chief Warrant Officer 5 Jeanne Pace (left), 1st Cavalry Division Band commander, conducts a rehearsal at Fort Hood, Nov. 6. The rehearsal is for a performance at the University of Texas at Arlington, Nov. 7. Since the venue is not large enough for the entire band, a smaller version, or “cut-down” band, fit the bill perfectly. At least one of the different ensembles of the 1st. Cav. band rehearses daily.
