Army Gen. Charles H. Jacoby, Jr., commander of NORAD and U.S. Northern Command, and Adm. Mariano Saynez, Secretary of the Navy, Mexico, pause briefly at the NORAD and USNORTHCOM Sept. 11 Memorial during the admiral's visit to the commands, Nov. 26, 2012. The commands flew the Mexican national flag in front of the headquarters building in honor of the admiral's close relationship with USNORTHCOM. The visit was Saynez's last as Secretary of the Navy, Mexico, before he steps down from his position, Dec. 1. After speaking at a gathering of NORAD and USNORTHCOM members, honors were rendered in front the headquarters, where Jacoby presented Saynez with an engraved artillery casing and the Mexican flag flown in front of the building. Saynez's support of USNORTHCOM has been instrumental in the fight against transnational criminal organizations. (U.S. Air Force photo by Tech. Sgt. Thomas J. Doscher)
