EAST CHINA SEA (June 5, 2023) Asahi-class destroyer JS Shiranui (DD 120) and the Halifax-class frigate HMCS Montreal (FFG 336) sail alongside the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Chung-Hoon (DDG 93) during Surface Action Group operations as a part of exercise “Noble Wolf”. USS Chung-Hoon is participating in multi-lateral exercises in the East China Sea with the Royal Australian Navy, Royal Canadian Navy and the Japanese Maritime Self Defense Force. Multi-later exercises like this reassure our allies and partners of the U.S. commitment to maintaining a free and open Indo-Pacific.
