U.S. Air Force Staff Sgt. Darius Prusfalcon, a radio frequency transmission systems specialist with the 182nd Communications Flight, Illinois Air National Guard, operates a Joint Incident Site Communications Capability (JISCC) radio during Exercise Prairie Voice in Peoria, Illinois, June 5, 2023. Prairie Voice is a state-wide, multi-agency exercise to test emergent communication capabilities throughout Illinois.
“The 182nd Airlift Wing Joint Incident Site Communication Capability provides collaboration and communications services to enable interoperability between National Guard response forces, local first responders, local emergency response managers and other state and federal response support authorities,” said Senior Master Sgt. Jason Gualdoni, a defense operations superintendent with the 182nd Communications Flight. “The Prairie Voice exercise is important because it enables emergency first responders’ ability to communicate with National Guard units in the event of a natural disaster.” (U.S. Air National Guard photo by Master Sgt.
