Sgt. 1st Class Howard J. Baity, a coach for the Team Bliss Track Club, and an observer/controller trainer with the 1st Training Support Battalion, 362nd Air Defense Artillery Regiment, 5th Armored Brigade, 1st Army Division West, Fort Bliss, Texas, reaches out to members of the club for a pre-race high-five Oct. 20, prior to the start of a cross-country meet at Golden Key Park, El Paso, Texas. Baity competed in track and field while attending high school in Jackson, Miss., eventually earning a scholarship to Hinds Community College, Raymond, Miss. While he admits that his experience in track and field help with his coaching, he insists that anyone interested in coaching and mentoring children just needs the desire to come out and share their time.
