A U.S. Marine with the 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit and U.S. Navy Sailors with the Bataan Amphibious Ready Group, sight in on a simulated enemy boat during a simulated strait transit part of Composite Training Unit Exercise (C2X), Atlantic Ocean, May 21, 2023. The strait transit simulated the Wasp-class amphibious assault ship USS Bataan (LHD 5), Harpers Ferry-class dock landing ship USS Carter Hall (LSD 50) and San Antonio-class amphibious transport dock ship USS Mesa Verde (LPD 19) coming into contact with, receiving and returning enemy fire from small boats while in formation.
