Dean, the 64th Brigade Support Battalion therapy dog, is suited up Feb. 16 in his improved body armor system by his caretaker, Capt. Phillip Rittermeyer, a Kansas City, Mo., native, who serves as the battalion chaplain with the 64th Brigade Support Battalion, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, Multi-National Division - Baghdad, at Camp Taji. Rittermeyer adopted Dean, who is three years old, from a shelter shortly before the Striker Brigade deployed to Iraq. This Soldier's best friend is on orders to help boost the Mountaineers morale during their deployment.
