As a means to stretch their legs after a long flight from Hawaii and become acquainted with the garrison, Marines with 1st Battalion, 3rd Marine Regiment conduct a light motivation run around the Bruneian military base. Accompanying them is their partnering soldiers of 3rd Battalion, Royal Bruneian Landing Force. Marines of 1/3 will be conducting military training in urban terrain with Bruneian soldiers as part of exercise Cooperation Afloat Readiness and Training (CARAT) Brunei 2012. CARAT is a series of bilateral military exercises between the U.S. Navy and the armed forces of Bangladesh, Brunei, Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Brunei and Timor Leste.
