Dr. Philippe Tissot, left, Director, CBI Chair for Coastal Artificial Intelligence, Coastal Dynamics Lab, Conrad Blucher Institute for Surveying and Science at Texas A&M University – Corpus Christi (CBI) speaks about his organization and using Artificial Intelligence in collection of ocean data and analysis at the Texas Coastal Ocean Observation Network or TCOON annual meeting in Galveston, Texas, April 28, 2023. The CBI is an inclusive research environment utilizing geospatial science to support data driven decision making. In 1989, the CBI installed the first state-of-the-art water-level measurement system along the Texas coast in Corpus Christi Bay. Soon after, CBI began the installation of a network of water-level and data-collection platforms along the Texas Coast that became TCOON, per NOAA.gov.
