1st Sgt. Benjamin Schrock, from the 122nd Fighter Wing Civil Engineering Squadron, is given the 2022 First Sergeant of the Year award at the Indiana War Memorial in Indianapolis, Indiana, May 5, 2023. Among many notable achievements, Schrock was a key enabler in the 2022 Fort Wayne Air Show that hosted over 70,000 local attendees over a two-day period. Additionally, he was a pivotal leader on the civil engineering deployment for training in Nova Scotia, Canada where he oversaw 31 airmen and organized two morale events with the host nation allowing the units to focus on three assigned projects valued at $150,000, enhancing readiness training while cultivating cross-cultural relationships.
