U.S. Marines with Fleet Marine Force, Atlantic, Marine Forces Command, Marine Forces Northern Command, and their respective Headquarters and Service Battalion, participate in a backyard cleanup during a Single Marine Program volunteer event in Portsmouth, Virginia, April 15, 2023. Marines volunteered by removing debris and waste from a retired U.S. Air Force Airman 1st Class and retired Portsmouth firefighter, Donald Wilder’s yard. The SMP organizes trips, identifies quality of life concerns, and provides volunteer opportunities for service members to give back to their community.
