YOKOSUKA, Japan (March 31, 2023) – Chief petty officers observe morning colors aboard U.S. 7th Fleet flagship USS Blue Ridge (LCC 19), March 31, 2023 in celebration of the the 130th birthday of the rank of chief petty officer. CPO rank was first established on April 1, 1893. Blue Ridge is the oldest operational ship in the Navy and, as 7th Fleet command ship, routinely interacts and operates with Allies and partners in preserving a free and open Indo-Pacific region.
