230327-N-PA221-1499 (March 27, 2023) Republic of Korea (ROK) Gen. Seung Kyum Kim, chairman, Joint Chiefs of Staff Korea, meets with U.S. Navy Rear Adm. Christopher Sweeney, commander, Carrier Strike Group 11, and Capt. Craig Sicola, commanding officer, USS Nimitz (CVN 68), during a visit to Nimitz. The Nimitz Carrier Strike Group is conducting a bilateral maritime exercise with the ROK Navy in the U.S. 7th Fleet area of operations. 7th Fleet is the U.S. Navy's largest forward-deployed numbered fleet, and routinely interacts and operates with Allies and partners in preserving a free and open Indo-Pacific region.
