Braden Hennings, an armory custodian with Combat Logistics Battalion 31, 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, fills his sustainment pouch from a Japan Ground Self Defense Force water tank filled with water from a U.S. Marine Corps purification system at a combat service support area on Kin Blue Beach, Okinawa, Japan, March 10, 2023. The Marines set up the water point to supply water to 31st MEU and JGSDF members and demonstrate sustainability while they conducted Iron Fist 23. Iron Fist is an annual bilateral exercise designed to increase interoperability and strengthen the relationships between the U.S. Marine Corps, the U.S. Navy, the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force, and the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force.
