A helium-filled weather balloon floats just above the table prior to its release March 1 at Eglin Air Force Base, Fla. The balloons carry a radiosonde device that gathers information like GPS coordinates, wind speed, direction, height, ascension rate, pressure, temperature and humidity. That information is compiled and used by 96th Test Wing engineers for various developmental and operational tests. (U.S. Air Force photo/Samuel King Jr.)
