Joseph Alu, a student at Central York High School in York, Pennsylvania, practices applying a tourniquet on fellow student Evangelia Barakos during "Stop the Bleed" training February 2, 2023. Rick Guinan, a teacher and certified athletic trainer at the school, incorporates the program, which teaches people how to control bleeding in emergency situations, into his applied sports medicine class. Guinan invited U.S. Army recruiter and combat medic specialist, Staff Sgt. William Barnett, to assist with the program as a way to expose students to careers and benefits available in the U.S. Army.
