FORT IRWIN, Calif. - The U.S. Army’s Program Executive Office Simulation, Training and Instrumentation (PEO STRI) executed the sixth Soldier Touch Point for the Synthetic Training Environment - Live Training System (STE-LTS) program from Jan. 23-31 at the National Training Center at Fort Irwin, California. The STE-LTS touch point featured combat training systems that support a large family of weapon systems including direct fire, indirect fire, counter-defilade, dropped, thrown and placed munitions, information and electronic warfare, medical simulations, air defense, and weaponized drones armed with rifles. PEO STRI’s Agile Acquisition Response (STAAR) Team, is a collaborative group of personnel from within the program executive office working together to identify, shape, and assess technologies for Army modernization, was responsible for planning and executing its sixth STE-LTS Soldier Touch Point at the National Training Center in Fort Irwin, California.
