U.S. Marine Cpl. Edgar Enriquez-Barrois, an infantry rifle Marine with 3rd Marine Expeditionary Brigade, III Marine Expeditionary Force, is pinned with corporal chevrons during a promotion ceremony aboard Camp Courtney, Okinawa, Japan, Feb. 1, 2023. With this promotion comes greater responsibilities and expectations as NCOs serve as the backbone of the Marine Corps and as a vital link between officers and enlisted Marines.
