U.S. Marine Corps 1st Lt. Alonso Whitcomb, the communication officer of Battalion Landing Team 1/4, 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, conducts a rehearsal of concepts walk aboard the amphibious assault ship USS America (LHA-6) for a helicopter raid in the Philippine Sea, Jan. 30, 2023. The ROC walk was performed to review the roles and responsibilities of all the units participating in the helicopter raid. The 31st MEU is operating aboard ships of USS America Amphibious Ready Group in the 7th fleet area of operations to enhance interoperability with allies and partners and serve as a ready response force to defend peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region.
