Staff Sgt. Gilbert Rote, originally from Yona, Guam, is a recruiter in the Salinas area. Staff Sgt. Rote’s primary military occupational specialty (MOS) is inventory management chief. He has served 12 years in the Corps and has been stationed at Camp Kinser in Okinawa, Japan. Immediately after, Staff Sgt. Rote became a watch stander when he was assigned to Marine Security Guard (MSG) duty, protecting embassies in Vienna, Austria - Manila, Philippines - Bamako, Mali. Upon completion of his three year tour on MSG duty, Staff Sgt. Rote continued to expand his knowledge in his MOS by working with Maintenance Battalion on Camp Pendleton in California. Staff Sgt.
