U.S. Air Force Master Sgt. (ret) Mike Christensen, left, and Senior Master Sgt. (ret.) Beau Jones, recovery care coordinator, represent the Air Force Wounded Warrior Program as part of and event with a local amputee charity at Royal Air Force Mildenhall in 2016. Christensen has been an Air Force Wounded Warrior since 2011. The two retired senior NCOs shared information about the AFW2 program and how it can help wounded warriors. The purpose of AFW2 is to assist Airmen with either a full return to duty, or transition into civilian/veteran life for those unable to return to active-duty service. The program advocates for Airmen to minimise gaps in medical care and provides a broader support network and resiliency tools for both personal and professional growth. (Courtesy photo)
