U.S. Marine Corps Maj. Gen. Bradford J. Gering, commanding general of 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing, gives the four-star general flag to Mrs. Hoar during the funeral of U.S. Marine Corps Gen. Joseph P. Hoar (retired) at Miramar National Cemetery, San Diego, California, Oct. 7, 2022. Gen. Hoar served honorably for 37 years and held many distinguished positions including Commanding Officer, 1st Marine Regiment; Commanding General, Eastern Recruiting Region; and Commander, United States Central Command.
