Brig Gen. Heather Reuter, deputy commanding general, 75th Innovation Command, participates in a panel entitled "Academic Innovation: Maximizing Inclusivity and National Security" during the 2022 Fed Supernova Conference conducted Sept. 27-29 in Austin, Texas. Dozens of entrepreneurs, defense contractors, service members and members of academia watched this panel of university administrators and military officers discussing the pivotal role academia plays in national security. Reuter and her guests discussed how their respective organizations maximize innovation and collaboration between their academic leaders and their national defense partners. Reuter gave several examples, most notably the 75th IC's Future Threats Analysis Cell collaborated with the University of Texas at Auston, New Jersey University, and The Hoover Institution at Stanford University in a study that culminated into a report entitled, "Powerful Narratives: Weaponized Harmony & the Soft-Power Tools of China's Rise to Global Primacy."
The panel was one of dozens of formal presentations and discussions conducted at Fed Supernova. Sponsored by Capital Factory, the three-day conference connects entrepreneurs, government and industry together to collaborate on a dual-use solutions that put commercial technology in the hands of the Department of Defense.
