U.S. Army soldiers assigned to the 173rd Airborne Brigade prepare equipment in the 721st Aircraft Maintenance Squadron’s Hangar Five on Ramstein Air Base, Germany, Sept. 7, 2022. The paratroopers used the hangar to perform Jumpmaster Personnel Inspections prior to loading a nearby C-17 Globemaster III which allowed for closer proximity to the aircraft, expedited the airborne timeline and mitigated jumper fatigue prior to follow-on Saber Junction 2022 operations.
Saber Junction is a multinational rotational exercise designed to assess the readiness of the U.S. Army's 173rd Airborne Brigade to execute unified land operations in a joint, combined environment and to promote interoperability with more than 4,500 participants from the U.S. and Allied and partner nations.
