220928-DC740-N-1066 SAN DIEGO (Sept. 28, 2022) Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin III visited Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC) Pacific to engage with personnel and discuss research, development and innovation related to autonomous systems. During his time at the command, he presented his personal challenge coin recognizing five Sailors: three from NIWC Pacific, one from Explosive Ordnance Disposal Mobile Unit One, and one from Surface Development Squadron One. Each received the secretary’s personal challenge coin for their outstanding achievements.
