Fleet Readiness Center East (FRCE) Commanding Officer Capt. James Belmont, center, recognizes Thomas McKeel, FRCE CH-53 sheet metal mechanic, and Robert Waits, FRCE locksmith, for their efforts to repair a damaged HH-46D “Pedro” search and rescue helicopter that is on permanent display outside the Havelock Tourist and Event Center. McKeel and Waits spent 12 years working together on the CH-46 Sea Knight helicopter line at FRCE and enthusiastically volunteered to fix the landmark aircraft.
