NAVAL BASE SAN DIEGO (Sept. 22, 2022) Joel Parfet, from Research and Development Solutions, Inc., installs a Light Mitigation Kit (LMK) aboard Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Chung Hoon (DDG 93). In response to the U.S. Fleet Forces Command-led Comprehensive Review of surface force incidents, including fatal collision events involving U.S. Navy destroyers, the LMK was developed to help reduce light pollution on the ship's bridge and minimize impacts to watchstanders' night vision.
