A U.S. Marine with 2d Battalion, 2d Marine Regiment, 2d Marine Division, tests the optic of an M3E1 multipurpose anti-armor anti-personnel weapon system as part of of a study conducted by the Defense Science Study Group on Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, Sept. 19, 2022. Members of the DSSG include Science and engineering academia from across the United States, being a program funded by Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency and directed by the non-profit Institute for Defense Analyses. During their visit, the members received a tour of various subordinate II Marine Expeditionary Force units to gain a better understanding of Marine Corps organization, capabilities, and operations.
