Members of the Defense Science Study Group receive a brief from U.S. Marine Corps Lt. Col David W. Hughes, the II Marine Expeditionary Force Current Operations Officer, on the organization and mission of II MEF, at Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, North Carolina Sept.19, 2022. During their visit, the members received a tour of various subordinate II MEF units to gain a better understanding of Marine Corps organization, capabilities and operations. Members of the DSSG include science and engineering academia from across the United States, and is a program funded by Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency and directed by the non-profit, Institute for Defense Analyses.
