Lt. Gen. Leonids Kalnins, Chief of Defense, National Armed Forces of Latvia, visited Alpena Combat Readiness Training Center, Michigan, Aug. 14, 2022. During the visit, he was briefed on an initiative to build interoperability in airfield management capabilities that has brought personnel from Alpena CRTC and Latvia together during exercise Northern Strike 22-2. Northern Strike is a tailored National Guard Bureau-sponsored exercise that provides readiness-building opportunities for the Joint Force and allies at the National All-Domain Warfighting Center.
